Frequently Asked Questions
So what's the deal then?
We're members of the Amazon Associates scheme. We review the books that we like. If you click the link to buy it at Amazon then we get a small commission on the cost of the book. It doesn't cost you any extra, and it might well save you a lot of time spent trying to find excellent books - think of us as cultural detectives ("Are you a detective or a pervert?"). Amazon will take your order, charge your card, and send you the goodies. We just point you in the right direction.
My books haven't arrived yet!
In these rare cases, Amazon are the people you need to speak to. If you go to the Amazon website and log in, then you can view the status of all of your orders, past and present. We've never had any problems with them, apart from the fact that they tease us with so many books that we need to read.
Why isn't [insert name of your favourite book] reviewed here?
There are three possible explanations: we'd like to read it but we haven't read it yet; we've read it and we don't like it; we haven't read it and it's unlikely we ever will. This is our selection of books!
Who designed your stunning website?
We did. That's our job. It is good, isn't it.
